Europe Eyes Its Own Digital Currency

We previously wrote about how many central banks are considering forming its own digital currencies, now the European Central Bank (ECB) is seriously looking at having its own digital currency as soon as within two to four years, as shared by ECB President Christine Lagarde.

While consumers around the world are embracing cashless digital payment – it’s a possible sign digital currencies could be ready to roll out.

The key is to implement central bank issued digital currencies without imploding the current banking system.

Currently, the central banks in Sweden and China are leading the way so far in terms of potentially adopting digital currencies.
